Master Trainer

Peter James Gilliland, PMP®

Peter has over 25 years experience working on engineering projects in the mobile radio & telecommunications infrastructure industry, with 10 years involvement as senior Project Manager with various multinational companies. He has contributed to the successful completion of many complex projects for telecoms service providers and government and private companies including emergency services, petrochemical, process control, mining, utilities, rail and road transportation and many others in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Peter holds the Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential from the Project Management Institute (PMI®). He has a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University, a Diploma in Action Based Training from Atlantic International University and is a certified Neuro Linguistics Programming practitioner and coach with the American Board of NLP.

Significant Recent Achievements

Project Management – Peter successfully managed and completed the engineering work of Indonesian Ministry of Forestry Integrated Radio Communications project for Motorola Indonesia during a period of civil unrest, resulting in further orders for system expansion. He also initiated standardized process and supporting documentation for project implementation and profit-margin analysis with Tait Electronics of New Zealand, resulting in faster response to customer requests for quotation and an increase in the number of successful bids.

Training and Consultancy – Peter has conducted training workshops in Project Management and Leadership Skills for public and private sector executives in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China. They included Hewlett-Packard, Motorola, Fairchild Semiconductors, Kulicke & Soffa, Singapore’s Infocomm Development Agency, Singapore Computer Systems, Singapore Technologies, Tetra-Pak, Shell, BP, and many others.

Previous Experience

P.T. Motorola Indonesia Peter worked as a Senior Project Manager with Motorola Inc., responsible for project management of engineering works during the implementation of the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry Integrated Radio Communications project. This US$90m project involved the installation of over 850 radio infrastructure sites in remote areas of Eastern Indonesia, followed by management of the design, engineering, procurement, and installation and commissioning of a US$30m network expansion.

Philips Telecom, UK.

Responsible for controlling the engineering works, installation, commissioning and customer handover of integrated radio communications and control systems for commercial and government organizations on-site worldwide.
