Introduction

In today’s increasing multi tasking roles, working together with multiple stakeholders is a norm and one key factor for an individual’s success in such an environment is the ability to influence. In order to effectively execute the job role well, one often has to convince different stakeholders involved to share a common vision.

This Art of Influencing workshop will enable participants to connect with their stakeholders and work towards achieving personal and organisational success.

Nathan has 30 years’ experience in the fields of Management, Customer Service, Negotiation, Strategy Formulation, Marketing, Business Development and Manufacturing. In his various roles as Head of Marketing for Asia Pacific & Europe, and Regional Planning Manager for Asia Pacific, he has travelled widely and conducted business / negotiation with people of different culture.

Mr. Nathan has a great passion for training. For the past 10 years, he has trained people from Multi National Companies, Government Bodies, Service & Retail Sectors and Charitable Institutions, including organizations like MCYS, AVA, HDB, MINDEF, Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prisons, Singapore Customs, Singapore Sports Council, SATS, PSA, LTA, NUS, Singapore Civil Defence Force, Jurong Shipyard, Isetan, Digital Asia, Oerlikon, Tanker Pacific, BW Shipping, Fish & Co, MayBank and Cathay Pacific Airlines.

Mr. Nathan’s training expertise and experience includes Service Excellence, Coaching, Mentoring, Team Building, Leadership, Customer Service, Cross-cultural Negotiation, Creativity, Innovation, Problem-Solving, Change Management, Effective Communication, Motivation, Personal Effectiveness, Developing Positive Attitude, Taking Initiative, Strategy Formulation, Managing Strategic Change and Reframing Problems to Opportunities.

Mr Nathan is also proficient in conducting conferences, experiential team building, courseware development, training instructors and trainers in areas such as Methods of Instruction, Basic Trainer’s Course, Effective Facilitation, After-Action Review (A.A.R.) and Effective Presentation. Mr Nathan also conducts training sessions for trainers undergoing WDA’s ACTA qualification programme.

Besides training, Mr. Nathan also conducts lectures for postgraduate (MBA) and undergraduate (LL.B.) students / executives. His students include Ambassadors, CEOs, Doctors, Police Superintendents and Departmental Heads.

Mr. Nathan possesses a MBA in International Business, which he graduated with a Gold Award. His MBA dissertation was on the impact of cultural differences on joint-ventures. Mr. Nathan is also a qualified Barrister-at-Law (Lincoln’s Inn, London) and holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Honours). His other qualifications include Singapore Workforce Development Agency’s Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management and Diploma in Management Studies.

Mr. Nathan is serving in various community bodies like WINGS Counselling Centre (under the ambit of NCSS), MCYS Board of Visitors, Lions Club, School Advisory Committee and Ramakrishna Old Boys’ Association. He also gives motivational talks to Schools, ITE, Charitable Homes, and parents.

In April 2005, Mr. Nathan was featured in Channel News Asia during the Up Close program. In 2000, Mr. Nathan was featured in a half-hour TV program on how he overcame life’s adversities. He has also been in featured in various newspaper articles such as Tamil Murasu’s Fathers’ Day story in 2001. And, in February 2003, his life-story was featured in the Straits Times.

Mr. Nathan strongly believes that training should not merely focus on upgrading skills, knowledge and competencies but also inculcate character-building and life-long application of the competencies acquired.  Hence, he weaves his wide practical work-experience and personal life-experiences into his training programs.
