  1 Day Conquering Stress Workshop
– A Life Changing Approach to Professional Success and Personal Happiness

For the first time in Singapore, New York trained psychologist, Saima Salman, will share a holistic and scientific approach to managing stress and provide time-tested techniques to controlling both occupational and personal stress. These techniques will show participants how to take control of stress triggering situations and manage these situations towards professional success and personal happiness. Participants will learn to clearly identify what is triggering stress, how to manage the trigger event and the situation and take control of the situation leading to greater success and fulfilment. In the workshop, Saima will draw on her many years of experience in helping clients manage stress and anxiety including her experiences with clients and her workshops conducted in New York City in the wake of the incidents of 9/11. Saima was practicing in New York City when the unfortunate events of 9/11 happened.

With a turbulent economy combined with tons of everyday stressors in our personal and professional lives, pressures building up from unknown fears, hiking frustrations and mild irritabilities turning into horrors – everyone has experienced stress in some shape or form. Especially, in our modern world everything from our constantly ringing phones; emails popping up in our mailboxes; and hectic life styles with increasing pressures & rising demands to perform better than ever. Competition, perfectionism, excellence, success, out-running everyone else has become the center of our existence. Not to forget the added stress from our personal lives – family, friends, other relations! How do you juggle all this without losing it? How to learn to cut the anxiety – anger – frustration- stress cycle forever? How to take control of your life in a way that these stressors do not become a source of distress for you? How about learning to stay relatively calm and happy under stressful situations or circumstances? This phenomenal workshop is all about answering these questions and it will help you actually ‘conquer’ your stress like ‘never’ before!

Saima Salman will teach each participant how to develop personalized methods for coping with interpersonal, work and change-related stress. Scientifically tested techniques, strategies, tools and exercises will be used to help participants see how they create their own stress and how exactly they can learn to control it. You will master “how-to’s” of dealing with stress triggers and your typical everyday life situations labelled as “stressful”!

CONQERING STRESS is all about understanding, challenging and consequently changing
the way you have been trained to create and maintain your own stress. This workshop will
help you learn how to consistently and persistently STOP turning your ‘stress’ into ‘distress’
– join in for a step-by-step personalized and extremely thought provoking experience!

Most jobs and personal relationships will have some level of pressure, this is what challenges you and motivates you to keep striving to attain satisfaction in personal and professional life. Normal levels of pressures are healthy and help you do a good job of preventing stress from becoming truly ‘stressful’. If the pressure goes unnoticed or becomes excessive and you feel inadequate to pin point it’s sources or unable to cope or manage, then it turns into ‘distress’.

Stress has a detrimental effect on our personal and professional life. Stress makes us think, feel and consequently behave unproductively and inappropriately. In order to cope well with stress we need the right skills, the right scientifically proven techniques and strategies which would be suitable for our own individual needs. In order to manage stress successfully, we need to understand what stress exactly means to us and how each one of us respond so differently to stressful situations.
