Course Objectives

To meet the growing demand of care givers and working professionals seeking practical oriented and intensive knowledge in specific fields of counselling and psychology. We have developed a series of Professional Certification programs in Counselling, Social Sciences, Psychology, Psychotherapy and Behavioral Science to meet societal and familial needs of our community.

The aim of this program is to provide relevant training to equip graduates with the skills to advance their careers in community work, teaching, human resources, social work, counselling, and career advisory.

Course Structure

The Professional Certificate course comprises of 18 contact hours of face to face training covering the following topics.
  • Fundamentals of Psychology
  • This module is concerned with the interaction between the fields of Psychology, Biology and Cognition. It involves the study of behavior in terms of physiology, genetics, evolution and Cognitive processes. Cognition, or mental activity, involves the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of knowledge. The range of mental processes involved includes perception, attention, Memory, imagery, language and thinking.

  • Fundamentals of Development Psychology
  • This course is concerned with the growth and development of personality throughout the life cycle. The course will examine the multiple contexts which influence/impact on the individual as one move through the life cycle.

  • Counselling Strategies & Techniques
  • The module examines, experiences, and applies a variety of therapeutic intervention strategies that promote growth and change. It will provide an opportunity for students to broaden exposure to therapeutic interventions, to further develop and specialize in particular areas of interest, as well as to grow in awareness of common themes/principles that evoke client change and growth across interventions and cultures.
Course Delivery

Participants can choose from the following options available.
  • Part-time: 6 weekdays lessons over 3 weeks from 7.00pm to 10.00pm
  • Full-time: 2 day intensive program, from 9am to 6pm
Entry Requirements
  • Mature Candidate (Age 21 years and above)
  • Diploma qualification from a recognized institution
  • Senior executives with extensive experience but without academic qualification may be considered on a case to case basis
Assessment & Award

Upon successful completion, students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by Centre for Behavioral Science.
